HW10.3 help

All,
I'm having trouble finding the value of J to get Ro so L and C can be solved for. I have a value for JL3=sqrt(1-2u) and JL4=0 at max load for ZVS but I can't determine how to find JL1, JL2 and J. It seems I should used the eqns from problem 2 but I'm having trouble with that problem as well and can't move forward on this problem.
Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe,

What I did was assume that because µ=0.5 (Vo/Vbat=1/(1-µ) for boost converter), the single transistor ZVS-QSW equations could be used. That should yield the same results as using the sync rec equations, since they are a mirror of the single transitor equations around µ=0.5. Then you can use the Excel calculation sheet (or look at slide 12 of lecture 35) to find J, given F and µ.

I also assumed that because µ=0.5, it is not required to have negative currents during the diode conduction phase, so JL3=JL4=0, like you also found.

Anyone have a different approach?

Regards,
Toby

Toby,
I think you're right, all that makes sense. Thanks again for all the help. As for problem 2 I would just list all the equations you have and call it a day. I don't think we have to eliminate the normalized currents from J like the single transistor version.
